hi guys, a mate of mine needs to swap the motor in his vp and has got hold of a vr motor, the main problem were worried about is the cam angle sensor the vr motor has but vp doesnt, so just wondering what would be required to get it running, thanks
If you just leave it unplugged then it doesnt exsist, into a VP there's no problem
ok cool, shal start putting it in this weekend and see how it goes, thanks mate
greenfoam, you might remember I just put a VN S1 stock engine and stock ECU into my Hilux that was originally a stock VR and stock ECU. I was thinking of trying the VR ECU with the S1 engine, as the plugs are the same, to see what it drove like. Now this cam angle sensor thing is something I knew nothing about. I also read the cam is different, so is it worth while or a waste of time doing the swap?
umm well if the ecu is the same then yours is a manual and the VR manuals never ran the cam sensor anyway :!)
vr tune has way less timing compared to S1 vn keep it in there
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
I can live with that!
It might might explain why my 3 core Hilux diesel radiator does not not cope with the S1 engine and ECU, where there VR and ECU was never a problem.
This is a real learning curve!
Thanks guys!
if you dont have the s1 header tank youll have issues was it you that said you teed into the radiator hose to fit the top bleeder out the manifold thats all well and good it lets the flow happen but all it does is send the trapped air into the radiator to circulate again and again and again and again it never comes out .the vn header tank seperates the air and feeds water back into the engine in its place sort of self bleeding .or do you have the vr manifold on the vn engine thats works with a normal radiator
grr damn auto sign in its actually delcowizzid not plymouth his account never signs out and i allways forget about it LOL
