I gave the Mat sensor a clean today it was unbelievably dirty which makes me wonder what’s on the other side of the inlet manifold is it worth me taking it off and giving it a good clean?
I think its a good idea to clean the MAT sensor, I have had a few fouled up on me and it does affect the engine fuel consumption and idle ect.
As for the inside of the manifold, It is quite a job and you would also have to outlay for a manifold gasket as well + goo + silicon. The gasket I bought came from repco ACL @around 100$ + goo and silicon total around $125.00....
So I would say no, it is not worth it unless your doing other work at the same time.
Mine wasnt so dirty but my MAT sensor was fouled badly,so a dirty MAT sensor is not always an indication of the interior of your manifold.
BTW. I replaced mine because it had a leak, I did clean it and it did not make any difference, better off giving the car an oil and filter change a clean or replace plugs and a tank of premium.
Cheers
Dan
yeah I think I might give this one a miss lol
