Default vp calais spats on vn?

hey guys, been reading up on the vp calais and the vq stato spats on other websites thanks to a google search, most of the posts i read were just people sookin about them. they look shit, they dont like up, they dont suit the vn bumpers etc etc

i wanna get the vp calais spats/trolley strips, then take out the chrome on the bottom, so they're just a flat trolley strip/spat, all one colour, i'm planning on getting an aero or a group a front bar, and i have a vt clubby rear bar, so theres no lines or chrome strips, which is the reason for why i dont want the chrome in the trolly strips or spats. whats everyone recon? will it be difficult to fit the spats, or fit them in the correct places and stuff? and what would be my best bet for fixing the chrome parts? sanding the whole lot back, and err.. filler? :S

    Cheers, Pushin.

the spats look wicked when done right, ive seen a couple on vn calais's and it suited them well, there was a VN in street commodores readers section a few years ago with spats and it lookd mint..

vt clubby rear bar on a vn....u serious? that will look like aids, the only kits that suit the vn's are the group a's(went done right), aero and the ss kit...if u are goin the vn groupa front go with the rest of the kit minus rear wing...but in my opinion go with the ss lower kit and put spats on, will look mint

i've already got the vt rear bar, had it for months, in primer.. on the car >.< it looks horrible (because theres no skirts) but personally, i dont think it looks too bad, and if it was painted i recon would look alright. i've had my car photoshopped with the vx skirts, clubby rear bar, grp a front bar, spats, etc etc, tried allot of different things, was looking good imo. will the spats fit straight onto vn? or will they needa be modified and if they do, how? O.o cheers

I have a set here with no rubber in them. They are pretty hard to get to sit correctly but will be worth it.

Just sand abit off that corner where its touching.

Your idea will work, if you get them smoothed over. Just taking the strip out will still leave the channels in different positions.

Yer think he means sand back the edge of the spat to get it to fit into the gaping gap. The get the centre channel in the spat filled so its all flush. Biggest tip is to put the spats on before putting on your new vp calais door moulds.

ah okay thanks but will it look funny if the spat curves down a little at the front cause of where its sanded? (cause wont the front of the spat be smaller? then the door moulds thicker, meaning it might look funny??) O.o im not like, trying to be a prick and get every downside, im just trying to work it all out, so if/when i do it theres less chance it comes out looking sh*t

? forgot about this, but would still like to know :P if i sand the spat down @ the front so it doesnt have the shitty gap, will it look shit (because if its sanded down, it will therefore be thinner then the trolley strips, or door moulds or whatever you wanna call em, wont it?)

Edit; could i see a panel shop (if not, an engineer..) about getting my panel pushed up a little so this problem no longer exists? or, in straight forward terms, can i alter the shape of my cars body, Legally?? (even though it is only like 2 inches being pushed up like half an inch..)
