check your fuel filter(Down near the tank) when you changed the fuerl pump sum crap might have been sucked up the line, or check the fuel pressusre regulator(on the end of the fuel rail)

what do you mean by cant hear injectors starting up?

all you should hear on the old vn/p is a clicking, and when the car is running, this you should feel when putting hand on the top of injector

    bit more info need.

you may need to take it back to the mechanic if your not confident in trying to repair it yourself.

i think you need to read about how a fuel injected engine works. there's plenty of info if you search google. do you know what an injector is, what it does, where it might be, and how many your car has? (you keep referring to it as a singular)

the reason i ask is because i want to know what you're expecting to hear from your injectors if you don't know anything about them

the injectors don't make a sound when starting up. they click every time they open when the engine is running. if you lift the bonnet you can hear clickclickclickclickclickclick, that's most likely the injectors because vns are notorious for having noisy injectors.

i'm wondering if you mean you can't hear the fuel pump prime? that makes a buzzing sound from the fuel tank when you turn the ignition on. maybe the new pump is quieter than the old busted one. for the spluttering you can check fuel filter (as suggested), cas, leads, plugs... grab yourself a gregories workshop manual as well, save you some mechanics bills

Thats it...the buzzing sound is gone...must be the new pump..But it still splutters when i startup...Its not getting fuel i think

does it run ok after it splutters to start up? maybe they put a new filter in the wrong way, i think i read somewhere that it can make a difference.
