Is your engine series 1 or 2?.

If it's a series 1 engine, the thermostat hides at the back of the engine. (Look for a hose leading to a pipe with a "Screw on it (Called Bleed-Valve)"

If its a series 2 engine, it will sit right on top of the engine.. Look at your Right hand side hose (Driver Side) and follow it to a pipe on the engine with a Bleed valve.
    ..
    ..
[EDIT - This is NOT my engine.. It's a random one off the Internet]
This is where the Thermostat is located on the Series 2 engine
Remove the bolt, and the thermostat hides inside

** But before doing this, make sure you drain the the coolant first!
Undo the bottom hose of the radiator..and let it drain.. when its empty remove the top hose leading to the Thermostat.. Undo the clamp.

Once the hose is off, undo the bolt..And your set
You can get a new Thermostat at Super cheap cheap for $10-30 I think?

BUT! Do this on a cold engine tho! Dont want you get to burnt!!

    Good luck!

In the black circle, thats the bleed Valve. You will need a Flat blade screw to release it, DONT fully undo it tho

*When you do this, make sure the engine is cold

    Shoulda put that in lol..sorry.

    Put the coolant in first..
Undo the Bleed Valve (not all the way)
Turn your A/C on..and put it on the HOT temp side
Start the car up..And add more coolant untill it's full wile running.. Then fill your Overfill bottle to .. And wait roughly 5min .. then close the Bleed valve.. and ya set!

Then put your A/C back on cold or off..what ever you wana do with it lol

nice ride u got btw. i love the VP in particular for some reason. mine had a ugly looking spoiler on it, got rid of that. under it was the orginal shine of the paint ( i assume that the spolier was on there since it was built). nice dark metallic blue paint. but the rest of the car has lost its shine. just a dull mettalic blue. a good buff should bring the colour back out.

Inside the Red Circle is the Thermostat Housing
Inside the Yellow Circle, is the Bleed Valve.

There's no actual designation series 1 or 2 however most refer to the older engine with the thermosat at the back as series 1.
The older engine lets callit series 1 does not have any bleed screw in it's cooling system it uses a surge tank that sits above the engine and radiator and the pressure cap is on this tank, you simply fil it up with the heater tap on and it is self bleeding. The revised design lets cal it series 2 has a bleed screw similar to the ecotech because the top of the engine is higher than the radiator and traps air so you have to bleed it out. You only need to fill the system with the heater on through the radiator while it is cold using a hose, gatorade bottle with the bum cut off and thread taped with electrical tape for a seal or whatever shoved in the radiator where the cap goes to give a head higher than the top of the motor and have the bleed screw undon a bit and keep filling until coolant comes out of the bleed screw with no air.
If the coolant is good drain it into a clean bucket and reuse it. If you top it up use pre mixed and it has to be 50% concentration for these engines, 33% in no good the coolant will boil around the valve area in the heads.
