Hi there,
Im hoping somebody might be able to help me. BACKGROUND- two weeks ago i bought a second hand commodore wagon VN exec dual fuel. I got the RWC with it, except the mechanic told me i would need to get a new radiator at some point, which he suggested would cost about 300 dollars. He told me he did a temporary job of putting some 'sealant' on it, does this make sense to anyone?
the two problems i have are;
1) the temperature gauge on my last two drives has almost been hitting the maximum, which I am worried about....i have noticed the temperature being fine before this so it was ok.
I went to check if my engine coolant level was ok as the previous owner kept forgetting to top up the water and the car would break down on several occasions......however....second problem
2) the catch to lift the bonnet under the wheel doesnt catch anymore so i cant lift the bonnet up, i was hoping there is some trick i can do to open the bonnet...
Please help me, any advice will be much appreciated.
Joe.
oh, is 300 dollars a reasonable amount to fit a new radiator becuase i saw online that the unit alone costs about 250 dollars, could the mechanic possibly intent to use a second hand radiator?
yeah 300 sounds about right, i know trade price for a radiator is about 130 for a new one.. it all depends if he is going to put new coolant in and stuff...
