Default Starter Motor hanging on is it normal?

    Afternoon fellow Commo people,
Ive had my Vp for a few years now and ive owned a Vn and a Vr all v6's. Ive noticed with the Vp is that while im cranking the starter motor tends to hang on till the engine fires even though ive let the key go in the ignition. Is this normal? i know the Vp's have a different starter motor and ive checked the solenoid operation which is all cool. Are they wired up differently? my old Vn and Vr never had that issue. I can live with it but its like the starter had its own mind insynic with the engine.. Freaky.

    Cheers Steve...

Could be your starter relay getting stuck swap it over for with one of your other relays and test. (Must be the same relay)
Or it could be your starter solenoid getting stuck.

will swap the relays and give it a go. Id say the solenoid because it doesnt stick the usual way where it wont operate this freaky issue only happns on crank.

Looks like the relay was a bit sticky, and ive lubed the ignition barrel.

    Cheers Steve.

probably just needs some grease on the shaft of the starter it washes off after a while and they stick
