Sometimes when starting my dash will beep once or twice at me I have no idea why. I have checked for errors and got code 12 and I never run the fuel tank down any thoughts ppl?
*****bump*****
What sort of beep is it?
Continuous?
1 beep every few seconds.. etc?
Beeping Codes from Level 3 Clusters
Overspeed A = T4 pause (1) T3
Low fuel B = T2 pause (1) T3 pause (4) repeated 5 times
Hot engine C = T1 pause (1) T2 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1)
Park brake C = T1 pause (1) T2 pause (1) T3 no pause T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1) T3 pause (1)
Press remote B = T2 pause (1) T3 pause (4) repeated 5 times
T1 = 2560 Hz 1/8 sec
T2 = 3200 Hz 1/8 sec
T3 = 4266 Hz 1/8 sec
T4 = 6400 Hz 1/8 sec
Pause = 1/8 sec
So, Code 12 is "Code 12 - System Pass (OK) "
88GreenVN had an beeping issue with his Park Break.. But, I believe.. It was not a beeping issue... Just the Light on his Dash
Check here for his thread Handbrake Warning Lamp Fail
EDIT - Does the beeping still occur wile the car is turned on..and while you are driving?

Yep had 2 things - 1 was the park brake switch was stuck and the 2nd was the voltage regulator had a cracked solder joint on pin No 1.
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
It beeps once only when I crank the engine
Could be a bad signal from the CAS to ECU then to Cluster maybe?
I do believe, there is a fault about to occur tho..
Maybe, you could try replace your leads and plugs..And maybe the coil pack.
When you driving, does the engine light ever come on?
Do you start the car with the Hand Brake on? - If not, you may have a similar issue to GreenVn's maybe.
I don't think lvl 3 clusters beep when starting up do they - As mine doesn't.
How about yours GreenVN, does it beep at all when starting up? (turning on accessories..then engine etc)
Yeah it beeps just before the engine fires up
Yeah always, I'm really stumped on this lol
once the engine is just about to crank.
it sparks up.. then begins to crank.
Your issue could very well be a slight dogey spark.. Check your leads and plugs mate
OR.. Start you car, let it idle for say 5min..
Put you hand on top of the Coilpacks.. If any are more noticeably hot than the rest.. you've got a dogey one.
On a Cold engine.. pull one of your Spark Plugs out, and see if they need replacing.
Im almost positive, you have a minor weak spark, hence the beep..but then it sparks up good enough.. So the cluster wont beep anymore![]()
I have tested the leads and coilpack with a multimeter, couldnt find anything wrong with it, the plugs were replaced not long ago and I also have sanded the crud off the metal plate on the dfi module however I do have an idleing problem when the motor is warmed up!
for the rough idle, you'l need to clean the TB out
As for this beep, it could be a wiring that is lose or dogey.. take ya cluster out.. and check the wires behind the cluster..
There are White Plugs in your dash.. pull it towards and check all the wires are seated in there nicely![]()
