Hi, sorry if this has been covered before but i did search and have found nothing relating to my particular problem.
Anyway, when i first got my calais i also got vt ss rims, so i whacked new rubber on them and as soon as i drove from the tyre shop the rears were both rubbing on the inside against the frame of the arch. i then got a pair of 3mm spacers (i think), this sort of worked but still rubs and squeals when theres more than 1 person in it.
the tyres are 235/45/17, and also if i put new shocks on will that help.
cheers in advance http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...eer%20chug.gif
sorry, what's the question?
apparently vps have a different offset. if you run VR hubs it should fix up your problem and you won't need to use spacers.
Lol this is kinda funny, I was just having a conversation with a mate on Facebook about this.
Getting VS IRS Trailing arms will solve this issue, I have a mate who has a VP Calais who told me about this, he runs the VS setup now, and has had 15's, 16's, and 19's under the arch with Airbags in the rear, no scrub issues at all, thats with camber.

I know its the 'competitor site' but hey, if it helps.. Just copy/paste the website link into your browser, and fix the gap in between street and commodores.
I got 25mm bolt on spacers made up from a tyre joint, cost $100 a corner. thats the only other way to fix this
have a look in my ride thread, got pics near the end of them
here are the pics

cheers for the replies everyone, how much work is it to change the trailing arms over, i have no experience with suspension stuff but i guess you gotta start somewhere.
and calais_cruisin, how much room is there between your tyre and the plastic strip?
Spacers are by far the easier option. Trust me I have changed trailing arms twice now.
The thing with changing trailing arms is- if you want different wheels later with say a 28p offset, then having VS trailing arms makes wheel clearance on the outside guard pretty tight. If you have spacers you can just take these out and you're sweet.
If you plan to run those same wheels for a long time then VS arms might be the way to go. Up to you really. If you don't have the right tools don't attempt changing arms. Those axles can be a real bitch to undo. Oh and it really is easier as a two man job.

pretty sure i can fit atleast 3 fingers between the guard n the spat
there the perfect size pretty sure the gap is even inside n out.
see if i can upload sum new pics ill get it to show the gap
just checked mine and on the inside i can only manage to get 1 finger behind the wheel and 3 from the face of the rim to the strip (bout 55mm), but i do have pretty big fingers lol, ill call up ian diffen or something and show them your setup
after ringing up all the tyre joints in my area they all said it was illegal and wont do them, but theres one shop that stocks them, but they were out of stock, but i dont know whether they were just spacers you put on the hub or bolt on ones.
ill ring some wreckers and suspension shops throughout the week
i got mine from F1 wheel n tyre in labrodor gold coast, call them see if they can post em or where they get em made
i got a pair of 30mm spacers from wilkinsons suspension and after putting one on just now there is very little room between the face of the tyre and the guard, i rang them up and they dont do any smaller ones and they said i need to get my rear guards rolled. dont know what it means but it costs $140 and im not keen on spending more money
take them to a mechinist get them milled down 5mm, shouldnt cost too much, under 50 id hope
just change the trailling arm's. there legal and safer. plus there not exactly hard to change. ive done them before, a rattle gun and hoist is the main tool's you need.
