i just bought a vn commodore and i noticed it has a vr coil pack on it is there anyway i could tell if it is a vr engine ? coz apparently the engine number on the plates dnt match the engine number on the block was told this thru revs
cheers
take a pic of the engine
yer y would that help is there anything noticebly different from them?
What year is your vn? if it is a series one, there will be differnces, if it is a series two the engine will be the same. Some differnces are: the thermostat housing on the v6 is at the back of the engine on the passenger side under the intake plenum in the S1 as apose to at the front on the s2, The injector rails are different they are flat instead of round, S1 have no radiator cap, the trip computer screens on the L3 cluster had thinner numbers on the S1 than the S2 (also a differnt cluser layout and are incompatible, components bar the trip computer are though), S2 had a bit of black plastic in between the plenum and the intake manifold called a Bellmouth (was introduced to counteract complaints of rough idle and 'excessive' wheel spin), the heads are also different and so are the exhaust manifolds I think. Thats about all I can think of at the moment but im pretty sure theres a few more.
well i knw it has a seies 1 radiator but i am sure the fuel rails are round not flat ah wheel its a v6 all the same
