VP Fault code issue

Hi everyone,

I am trying to read the PCM and check for fault codes. I have followed the correct procedure to do this by bridging the pins out on the ALDL plug. That works fine, when i turn on the ignition the fan starts up etc. The engine check light does not come up at all though. The only time the engine light does come up is when I crank the car over. It comes on for about half a second and then goes out. Even when I turn the ignition on normally to the "on" position the engine light doesnt come up. I have unplugged sensors while the car is running and the engine light still dont come up.

Does anyone know what might be wrong here? Thanks for any help.

did you try with the test lamp in the data pin like i suggested that will rule out the lamp circuit if that doesnt work im guessing ecu

Hey mate, thanks for your help so far. I did try the test lamp and it still isnt putting out a code. I dont know what is going on. I will try and track down another PCM from the same model and throw that in to see if it works.
