    Default 15x7 stock rims

chasers, interceptors, pursuit rims, cop rims whatever..

i hear the stockies were 15x6 and chasers are 15x7 but i think later around vx or vz or something holden were putting 15x7 on most of them

anyway.. yeah i have 15x7 on my calais, at the moment i have 225/60 15 tires on it

im wondering how wide i can go on 7" rims. i have a mate with some old 245/60 15 tires with around 80% tread, he said i can have them if i go to pick them up but its around 500km away..

i pretty much just need rear tires and dont want to go any smaller than 225, having a ton of trouble finding anything 225x15 anywhere online.

if the 245s fit it would save me quite a lot of money instead of buying tires, if they dont its a waste of money going there and then i still need to buy a set

basicly just want to know if they would fit, in theory its only 2cm wider right? hmm i dont know

either that or does anyone know where around south adelaide side where to get cheap 225s?

thanks if anyone can answer any of this

    Thanks, good to know.

Will i have to roll the lip on the arch, if so just a old towel and multi grips will do the job? Dont really want to split the paint but that seems the simplest way to do it that I can think of.

    Lol.
I wouldn't be using multigrips and a towel....
Perhaps a light hammer if you must, or just get them rolled by the tyre
-joint, it'd only be 'bout $50 a corner I'd imagine.

I gave up on the 245s because even with my 225s I only have less than 1cm clearance between the guard and the rubber. I know I can get cheap tyres for under $100 each but I dont want 195-215s for the rear, just 225s.

Here is a pic of my car I took today, 215s on front and 225s on the back.

I don't know why I love chasers so much but I would prefer them over nearly all mags I have seen, maybe I'm just used to them.

Still on the look out if anyone knows of some 225s South of Adelaide for under 100 bucks each.

Yeah they aren't stock for VN but stock for VL cop cars and then later some VY and VZ models I think, not 100% sure on that though, but they are 15x7, not sure what the JJ stands for but says something like 15x7JJ on the rims.

VY and VZ utes and crewman, they got the 7" rims. Mine came from a VY ute, I've also been wondering how wide I can go on the rear tyres

IF you can get in contact with highway tyres (and if they will ship them) get some highway max's 225/60/15's..... worth every cent

Pretty sure 245's will fit on 7"s sam, only problem is the clearance...... Not 100% on that part :P

Yep got some, through forum sponsor TheWheelDeal, I called Highway Tyres and they told me to call this bloke in SA. It was cheaper to get them sent from The Wheel Deal in Melbourne than to buy them from Adelaide anyway
