Angry How bad does this look to you....

    Hi guys!

Here are some pics of my Left Strut.

Every so often if I do a hard take off, a Knock comes from this strut.. All the bushes are fine.. and all seems good..

BUT looking to the TOP of the strut.. You see somthing not right..

**Tomoro I will take the wheel off for better pic, got work soon.. so.. lazy to take off a wheel lol..

Please read.. "Im going to work soon, - to LAZY to take off the wheel" - I will remove it tomorrow.

I was asking, what people think of it.. from what they can see.

I wasn't after .. "This picture good or bad?"

the rubber bearing encloser looks shagged, I`d take it off and replace, dont know how?, this is a rough guide VS strut removal as its for VR VS (I swear I saw a VN VP in the HT`s), I believe the VN VP still used strut inserts and the VR up is a complete unit.

The rubber you took a photo of is just a bump rubber and will not cause a knock on acceleration. I'd be more inclined to check the engine mounts or sway bar rubbers for the type of knock you are describing.

The sway bar links are worn as well. But plant it and back straight off and it clunks.

You wont even get close to the bump rubbers by accelerating then decelerating. Do the worn sway bar rubbers first and go from there.

the picture is bad - aka u cant tell much from it.
    Everyone is taking guesses.

Take your car to a mechanic and get it checked properly.

Cheak the K-frame bolts i had the same sound coming from the passenger side they might look tight
but i got a good turn and a bit out of mine and the noise went away, just that small amount is enought for the frame to move under breaking and than when you take off it moves back. it took me for ever to find it on mine i had the towers out all the steering rack cheaked it all replaced bushs the lot.
    hope that works for ya

    Thanks guys!

Will sus the K-Frame first.. tighten it up, if knock still persists..I'll get new Rubbers on the Swaybar.. If not.. then I'l be looking at the engine mounts.

Funny thing is, If I dont do any Hard Take offs at all, you will never hear the knock..even going over Speed bumps etc.. not knocks.

So, K-Frame is defiantly looking like so!

edit - Also, I had a few mates push down on that side of the car..And it's firm..and no strange sounds :P
But that rubber will need to be replace asap

i would say its your engine mount mate the best way to check it is pop your bonnet then get back
in the car and start it up and put it in gear and play with the accelarater whilst your foot is on the brake
if the motor is jumping up and down it's your engine mount

couldn't really hear it sorry on your vid

But its like .. Somone hitting your car.. like a knock.

However.. I recently tightend the bolt up on the K-Frame and have yet to hear the knock again.. Im trying to make it knock. But it's not.. So, im guessing that worked

    Sorry for LATE reply haha

-Edit.. Tomorow I will be taking the wheel off to see the Strut closer.. so i can provide better pics, .. just need to make sure the Strut is not nearing its end

does it happen whilst going over bumps? like speed bumps, the inch high gutter for a drive way, or just turning?
a bit like a dislocated shoulder kindof sound?

Nah, it normally happend when you give the accelerator a bit of kick.. and then you get right off it,..

This usually made the front end lift up, and the knock was heard
