    Default high pitch squeal

Hey, the last few days I have noticed a high pitch squeal (like squeaky brakes) while driving... It doesn't change pitch when going up/down speeds, it is also not constant, it comes and goes.

I also noticed it tonight when I turned my car off, it was squealing for about a min afterwards... It sounded like it was coming from near the A/C unit.

Any idea's? Help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Skunks.

Sounds like your fan belt is lose.. or shitting itself

Tighten it up, or maybe you can buy a new Belt if tightening up doesn't work?

How do I tighten it up? Is it just the belt that runs at the front of the engine?
Also should it be squealing if the engine is off?

LOL i dont think it'll have anything to do with your fan belt if it does it when the engine is off haha. i dunno much about a/c but maybe the sound is from gas leaking? other than that i dunno

    ^correct. V6s auto tighten anyway..

I'd be thinking a vacuum leak, not sure what fails in air con systems but if your gas was leaking out it'd be gone in a while so it'd stop squealing, lol

is there a way to check for a vacuum leak? and loss of A/C gas would make the A/C go warmer yes?
