    Default Car drives horribly

    G'day guys,

recently upgraded fron a vn commy to a vn ss and the new car handles like crap feels like I'm driving on tram tracks it darts left an right over little bumps etc

so far to rectify this I have

Fitted a new steering rack (wasn't really for handling
more becuase the old one was leaking from the powerhead)

replaced rear upper control arms (diff was bouncing alot)

suspension is all done recently with ultra lows and Monroe struts

next thing will be tyres car has 18" wheels from a vy gts and they were scrubbed out badly on the inside, the previous owner swears he bought them like that but I think there rubbing on the strut cause there to big (.any thoughts on rectifying this withou buying new rims)

strut brace will be fitted aswell to stiffen the front end

That's about all I could think of what other steps could I take?

new panhard rod bushes will stop the back moving around if there worn, check all bushes if any are worn replace, change the ultra low springs to FE2

I'm pretty sure any lowered VN/VP commodore is prone to tramlining when lowered and wide tyres are added.

My VP Calais does it, with 16 x 8" wheels.

They drive straight if all the bushes are new, the more worn ones you have the worse it will be with bigger wheels. The rear panhards rods bushes mentioned above are the most important ones on the car as far as driving straight goes

Big wheels can make it dart to the side on bumps. Get a wheel alignment, i had one done yeasterday and its driving ALOT better well worth it.
