The clutch pedal on my vn ss sits about an inch above the brake pedal and seems to have a long way to travel to the ground which makes quick take offs hard
it also grinds into reverse which is a PITA not sure if that's an adjustment problem though
does the pedal height and travel sound normal how can I go about making it better?
Mine, (In a V6 maunal), sit's about level to the brake pedal, but all of my clutch play is in the first inch or two of travel.
So with mine, if I'm playing around, trying to save time in shifts, I won't even put the clutch to the floor.
BTW....My reverse crunches too...It always has....For years.
mine sits about level with the brake pedal. easy to adjust it under the car

Only thing that's annoying me is the box has just had a pretty expensive rebuild and strengthening (through a very reputable garage) and a half button clutch...
Was just expecting better
It will grind in reverse if you havent stoped or had it in netural and quickly went to change it to reverse. In that case shift to 5th first then to reverse and it will stop or just wait a bit before putting it into reverse. Reverse dosent have synchros so you need to be stop aswell as the gearbox, cause as soon as u push in the clutch the gearbox dosent stop spinning stright away. Putting it in 5th first uses its synchros to slow/stop the input shaft rotating.
My clutch pedal is just above the brake and thats set according to the manual.
