Make them yourself. Fashion a hoop and bolt it to your floor making sure it will not foul the tailshaft when the suspension rebounds.
Is this for the drags? Are you sure you need it? I compete in hill climbs and street sprints and if the car is road registered you don't need the hoops as far as I know, drags may well be different of course.

Probably a bit of flat steel bar and shape it to suit. I have to do the same myself shortly, as yet I have not looked into it. I would think something like 25mm x 3mm would suffice, it's only to hold the front of the tailshaft up if it were to fail.

Hi mate you have a bit of a misunderstanding, you don't need to run a tailshaft loop on a Commodore because they run a two piece shaft anyway. On cars with a single piece tailshaft you need one. You can call the club ask to have that confirmed but you will find that's how it is with every motor sport body in the country

greenfoam, with Commodores, CAMS force you to still have tailshaft hoops (or saftey hoops as they call them). We have been picked on for this before.

I see, well at least under ANDRA rules which the drag and burnout comps are under you don't need one at least on the slower cars that haven't had to pass a technical inspection. At the 6.99/10.99 point I think it would be required but I haven't heard it being needed in the burnout competitions, the cars are never traveling at speed so I can't see why it would

on a two piece shaft you would need 2

can't see point for a burnout car. the forward momentum of the car would be negligible to cause any issues. for a drag/racing car it becomes a issue. should the drive shaft fail and dig into the ground it could possibly flip the car.

Surely it can do the same in a burnout car? Forward momentum isn't the problem, its the spinning of the tailshaft, even at zero speed it can still flip a car....
(Heard something a while ago at a burnout comp they were making these mandatory or some crap, never went back so not sure if it happened)

i can see the driveshaft thrashing around and doing lots of damage the but the flipping of a car in my mind occurs much like how a athlete competes in the high jump with the pole
