Hi
The thing many have told Me is to do it correct the first go..
take your time and make sure you don't miss anything.
Check the oil pump while your in there its not common but
you may come across one the is noisy.
I know this one for sure because My Vn has a noisy rattley
timing chain and the oil pump is going also..
and last but not least change any gaskets you come across.
Becarefull with the radiator and also check your hoses when you remove them.

And last but not least good luck.. Let us know how it went and any snags\ troubles you come up against.

recently replaced

just thought I would say I recently had my timing chain aswell as the tensioner replaced and it took a little over 3hrs, we had trouble getting the heater hose off but other than that it was pretty user friendly unless you have some really hard bolts to undo. I was quoted (by 4 different machanics) almost triple the amount of money that it actually cost, although I think that's because I'm a blonde female?

yeah, I find it is like that most of the time but I do have a good brake place, but no brake problems, thank god. Think it might be cheaper and easier to find a single mechanic?

hahahahaha
But can u fix a car???????? :whistling
after doing the timing chain I found after a couple of days of driving there was a bit of oil leaking out the bottom near the sump, so I got a mobile mechanic to come out and fix it, but when he was putting the cover back on
he cracked it cause he didnt align it properly. I told him he had to buy me a new one but he says that my cover wasnt new so he will replace it with a second hand one from a wreckers. A**hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think he should buy me a new one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
check out the photo!!!!!
