i was just driving out of a petrol station this arvo and the tempreture gauge skyrocketed, i pulled over, and me and my mate looked it over... and nothing! radiator cap warm and no steam and fan working as normal. I took off again and it worked fine. i got home and tried it again and it jumped again. What's going on? I just put on a K&N Rampod filter on 2 days ago. Could this be it?

    Someone Help!

Make sure the wiring is not touching anywhere especially behind the alternator.

If the thermofan is working, I guess there's no electrical issues. Have you ruled out water level or a faulty thermostat yet?

My VP's temp gauge usually sits just above the halfway mark in traffic (which is about where the thermofan kicks in).
