Hi everyone thought I would post up some pics of what happens to your internals when you dont regularly change your oil. No amount of engine flush is gunna get rid of this stuff. Up to 10mm thick and was quite dry. So change your oil!!! Surprisingly car ran ok but with a slight miss still ran ok tho![]()
DAMN..... thats caked on huh??
That's good going for a V6, almost as bad as an average 304 (or blue 202)! but yep pretty good effort on the V6 because that's normally a really clean motor
man under my rocker covers are spotless, do you know how many kms were done on that oil?
im surprised the oil drained back to the sump
I pulled apart a blown VN with 385,000 ks and it was worse than that :S it had sludgicals that grew from the manifold to the bottom of the valley. because it was my first V6 dismantling it took me 20 mins to find 4 of the head bolts that were buried under 1 1/2"
of crusty sludge.
hey wogboyz car had done 280000 kms and Vlad01 I like the term sludgicals because thats what they look like hanging from the bottom of the inlet manifold. Caked and Baked.
Same same ???

so glad i change my oil every 5000 km after the rebuild. sludge like that will end up blowing a bearing eventually.

Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them

I change my oil and filter every 10,000km and there's no sign of sludge at all!
haha there were "sludgicals" hanging off my VP's manifold too but not super long ones, they were about 2cm long, neatly all the engine had 5mm-1cm of sludge coating
i wouldnt even bother rebuilding something like that, take for ever to clean that shit off

Take that block to a engine builder and get a acid dip, just leave it in for about....forever.
