    Default Lost keys.

    Got abit of a problem at the moment.
    Lost keys for my car and steering lock is on. Was wondering if anyone has a solution as to what i can do without being too costly.
    I have a series 2 1993 vp executive.

    Thanks Sik.

    If you can get the lock barrel off, the get a second one from a wrecker or me in Brisbane and all you will need to do is buy the replacement torque bolt or reuse the old one. You will have 2 different keys then.

    Any "beater" should know how to remove the old bolt.

    This is a touchy subject and I'm sure people here DO NOT want advice given out to possibly help others to steal and rebirth cars.

    You should have access to people in your profession that trust you enough to help you, is what I am saying.

    Here is a picture attached of what you have to remove to change a complete lock and column bracket with a second hand unit to make it cheap for you to fix yours;

    Take your boot lock and glove box lock to a Locksmith and have them cut a key. Providing everythings the same key and you take BOTH in, it should be fairly cheap.

    Just go to holden. They have the codes on record for all the keys for your car. Assuming its still the factory cut key you were using and not an aftermarket barrel.Cost me no more than $20 for the ignition key.

    Just take in rego papers with the vin and proof of ownership and they'll do it for you (probably cheaper to get the codes, and then go to a locksmith and get it cut, theres plenty around who can cut coded keys)
