my 1992 vp motor is starting to get worn down and things keep going wrong my mate sugested geting the motor out of his vs and puting in the vp so i can get a vs motor and put it into a vp
from my understanding the gearbox`s are diffrent in the vr/vs they have no kick down cable they are all electronic or somthing like that
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them
will a vt engine fit into a vn? i was gona put a vs engine but wondererd if a vt will fit????
wat would i need to take out of the vt for me 2 change the engine from vn to vt?? first time even wonting 2 do this and i hav no idea wat i needa do lol, but i do hav mates that do no how 2 istall it and all that
no i didnt know that, would it b easyer 2 use a vs engine than the vt if they r the same engine? if i us the vt engine nd trans should i change the brakes 2 the vt ones?
i can get a vt cheap a mate of mines ex girl her dad smashed his vt but the engine nd all that is still good he wonts $500 i thought hell yer thats cheap as lol
from what i have heard vs upwards they run electronic control from the ecu for the auto but for some fun i would put a ecotec to a vr gearbox or vp and keep the map tune and get green foam to sort you out a tune hozy did it in his car it will wield good power and make thing a little easier than a full wire swap and everything i just converted my vs to a vn loom with a haltech was not hard at all except the extending the wires part
cool thanks for that will it still fit and work if the vs had extrators and was a manual but the vp had no extrators and was auto
i dont see why not the ecotec vs vr manual and auto extractors are the same code from pacemaker so give it a crack
mate you sure can! i signed up just to tell u this...
it will just all drop in, what you will need to change is, gearbox mount of the vp onto the vs gearbox, heating hoses, power steering fluid bottle, u will need the ecotec engine wiring loom and the ecu -with the ecu go on ebay and buy memcal with no vats- it disables the immobilizer, its a must otherwise u wont be able to start it! whole exhaust from manifold to the axle, one of the wiring loom connectors near the battery is different, but same colors so just cut and join, u will nee the vs air box, has a sensor in it. and also just use the vp fuel hoses. other than that it's a smooth green light.
im a little late on posting but im sure some one will find it useful. please don't diss my writing lol. im just helping![]()
where can you get one of these no vat memcals, mate let me know asap thanks
just out of interest why would you want to? seems a whole lot of work for not much gain if you going to spend that much money make it at least a 304 or l67 conversion. basically the same changes (ecu, loom etc) but just more worthwhile.
Im going to do this swap next month. im buying a VS V6 and auto box off a mate, and im getting an ECU off another mate. also ive been told that you need to fit the VS ignition barrel because the vn/vp key wont start the vs ecu (something to do with the metal strip on the key).
anyway as soon as i get the job started ill be taking LOTS of photo's and ill definitely post it up here. If i run into drama's ill also put them up... but i hope i dont because its my daily driver and i have no other car. but i will be taking a week off work just in case.
