Default Location of oxygen sensor matter?

So i got some wild cat extractors and y piece a few weeks ago and im thinking it's time to put them on my car. There is just one thing im not too sure about. Ill attach a picture to explain it better but simply the oxygen sensor hole in the stock exhaust is close to the top of the y piece were as the wild cat y peice has the oxygen sensor hole at the end (you know, just before the cat). Anyway I just wanted to ask if it would make any difference if the sensor was a bit ferther back.

    Oh i have a 92 VP Commodore

No it doesn't matter. If it did, manufacturers of extractors wouldn't do it.

I got VR extractors but the sensor was down right at the Y pipe and it made my vn run abit rough sensor code kept coming up, but that sensor location on the extractors is still on the single pipe so its fine. as for is there a difference prob not much power differnce just a change in the power in different rev ranges.

move the sensor to one side near the extractors wont work very well down there vn and vp measure 1 half of the engine and gets a little confused when it measures both sides
