Default Setting L3 V6 Temp Gauge to V8

I've got the upgrade V6 L3 cluster to V8 bug real bad. *sigh*.

THe tacho conversion is all under control. Now for the temp gauge..... I have adjusted the gauge to read higher by using the slider adjuster on the back and it looks to have worked some what. Normal running temp is almost the same as my V8 gauge. So I could probably sneak a little more on the adjuster to get it very close

Now the pic the v8 and v6 settings have ohm reading and point on the gauge as to where the needle should be in relasion to the ohms.

Question: Are the gauges so different that the readings would be out to such a degree that the car could overheat without the gauge reporting this back. That is running a V6 gauge and adjusting it up.

A V6 gauge reads much colder than the V8 unit when in a V8 car.

This quote is from the factory VR-VS manual CD may be of interest

Does this mean V8 gauges after the date are compatiable with V6?
