Default vp v6 cutting out wont rev past 2500rpm cas? coils packs?

    hey

my v6 is idling like this
    IMG_0138.flv video by holden_boy6 - Photobucket

it only idles like that some times but normaly when it starts playing up

and when i drive and i hit 2500rpm it sounds like the rev limiter

and it also cuts out and then wonts start again

i checked if it had spark and it didnt but it does now

if the crank angle sensor was buggerd would that stop the spark

i have also ruled out tthe fuel pump and the leads and spark plugs as i replaced them last week end

thanks in advance for your help

CAS can cause no spark mate. When the car does not start or when there is no spark then pour water over the CAS (Near the harmonic balancer)
If the CAS is totally stuffed up then there will be no spark.
It also can be the DFI module the coils sit on top of it.
But Sounds like the CAS mate

Yes it can be intermiten mate. I would suggest you wait till it cuts out again then pour the water over the CAS and then see if it starts.
Dont change the DFI module unless thats the problem get the most use out of the old one mate.
But its up to you mate

Repalce your Coil packs. If it is/was the crankshaft sensor, you can always 'test' it when/if the engine actually cuts out by pouring a cup or small bottle of cold water over it. If the sensor is faulty the engine will usually start. If the coils are faulty no manner of 'intervention', short of complete replacement, will get them working again.

That is not entirely true. Some times the CAS can stop working no matter how much water you pour. (18x / 3x signals)
When a car comes in a work shop we don't just change parts just for the sake of it or because we think its going to bugger up anyway. If that was the case we would change all the parts in the car.
With a big price tag on it the customer wont be happy.
To properly test the CAS you would need a oscilloscope and check the pattern its giving out but obviously you would need a oscilloscope.
