    Default VN starts but then stalls very quickly...?

    just noticed recently that my VN takes a while with the ignition and sometimes stalls if i dont rev it enough and it seems to splutter more than it used to/choke and take longer when starting up....i know very little about cars, is this a sign of something bad?. The car is LPG/petrol and does it more often on lpg....

    also noticed after a drive when i put it back into P and pull handbrake up it might stall itself before i actually turn it off....

    could these things signs of bigger problems?

    Hi Mate.
    Try your Fuel pressure regulator, at the moment repco are clearing them out at about $70. Big difference from $280, so be quick if your going to try it because when I got mine a month ago they only had 3 in the country and there being made obsolete.

    If this is happening on LPG starts, then there could be not enough water in the Converter.

    Also the IAC AND TPS ports may needs a carby clean spray and wipe.

    LPG does get a lot of slime build-up in the intake after many years.

    joeyd, You sent me a PM, I tried to reply, but your inbox is full - you need to delete old messages.

    Here is the answer to your question to me;

    Yeah mate, I have never cleaned the Intake or IAC myself, but its a case of unplug and unbolt, remove electric components, then clean the intake and the small holes, then put it back together. You may need a new gasket.

    As for the water in the converter, this is to do with an air bubble in the heater hose system usually shared with your converter. You need to warm the engine and with the heater on hot, bleed the air, if any from the system!
