    Default IAC question

When the IAC is faulty does it send a code to ther ECU?
Also does the needle inside the IAC move up and down or is it stable in 1 spot ,i ask this as iam placing a bet with a mate.

The engine light came up on my rodeo when the air holes in the back of the IAC for cloged full of turd.. and yes it moves to alter the idle air flow (if you unplug it and put the car onto red's you can watch it move in and out)
