Simple question... just looking for a simple answer.
My cluster is playing up in my VN v8. It is the cluster with the tacho on the left, speedo middle, and fuel and temp on the right. Can i use any dash cluster, which looks the same, from VN-VS??

You can *ONLY* use clusters from a Vn-Vp.
if you put a Vr-Vs one in..It wil start to smoke and catch fire
Finding a V8 cluster may he hard tho..Check on ebay!
When 88greenVN checks this..Im sure he help you with your current cluster![]()
yep above is corect level 1 and 2 vn - vp cluster is straight swap.. minor mod required to get level 3 to work well worth it tho, took me coupla hours to do
What part is playing up?
You can fit any set of gauges from a VN to VS into the cluster and they will work without any mods needed. You just need to use a PCB & voltage from the current cluster.
You may want to get a V8 set of gauges tho - I've not converted the V6 L2 units as yet - but should be able to do so.

The tacho has never worked properly, and yesterday the odo and trip meter decided to throw it in too. DAMN IT!
SO... 88greenvn, i can't just directly bolt in a vn-vp complete L2 cluster? does it HAVE to be a v8 one?
It's my daily, so i dont wana stuff around with L3... throw that in the cbf/ too hard basket.

You can fit any speedo you like - even a VS unit and put the VN fascia on it. The tacho will read high numbers - about 300rpm more if it's a V6 unit in a V8. You can take the small cog out of a working ODO and slot it in to yours to keep the K's the same.
The L2 VN tacho's were always dodgy. I'd get a VR set of gauges and fit them - the tacho's are much more reliable.
