i have a vp auto v6 and i recently changed my oil and filter and i spilt a little oil over the side down by the headers so i took it around the corner to the car wash and used the engine wash they had (this is because i didnt want the engine to smoke from the oil) and after i had washed and litely rinsed i got in the car to drive and the car was lagging and very slow to move and making a strange sound and jolting as if the car was coughing,
this happened once with a vs of mine but it stopped within five minutes,
i managed to get the car home and i drove today and it wasnt nearly as bad but now when i start to move from a complete stop at the lights or so it does it again but goes back to normal as soon as it changes to second gear.
i kno that i need a new gearbox but i didnt have this problem before i went to the carwash..
any ideas besides not to go back to the carwash lol
Run it for a while and let the heat dry out any water that may have gotten into sensors, plus, ign leads etc..
Should come good after a while
its the water in somewere were it shouldent be. let it dry or un plug all the plugs you can see and blow the water out of em.

Also try hitting all your electrical connections that you think got wet with a quick squirt of WD40(or similar), then blow them all dry, and all should come good.![]()
