vp ute problem help please

Hi guys new to forum and have problem with my ute

Was running well until 1 week ago..Now the engine bay shudders and lacks power on acceleration and backfires...

I had a look today after neplacing plugs and noticed something wrong

on left hand side of engine to the left of spark plugs there is hose with spark plug in it that is just hanging there it looks as if it has snapped or come of something? there is another hose with spark plug in it on the other side that fits in a slot? any ideas i dont no much about this stuff other than basic servicing.This is my first car so i would appreciate any advise ...

on a v6 the leads go from the spark plugs to the front of the engine coil packs.. check all six are on... and in corect order... if its v8 then they go to the back of the engine to the dizzy... sounds like one of the leads is off
