i just bought a manual vn engine just pulled the flywheel off and seen that the part where the flywheel is chipped about a 5c coin out of the side not where the bolts go but just wondering if its still safe to use?
I would not use it as it may well not be in balance any more and have a crack in it.
You dont want a fly wheel to explode on you. Not very nice at all.

think they are meant to be like that... should be pretty clear if its machined or broken off
Hmmm - thats not the fly wheel.... I thought for some reason the fly wheel was chipped. (I would not use a sus fly wheel)
But the crank. - I would get a mechanic that's pulled plenty of engines apart - or get a look at other cranks.
