What if i got a 120a alternator? Would this damage anything else in any way? (including my battery, which will soon need replacing.)
I have a subwoofer, thats the only thing that would really incrase my power draw.. other then that i dont feel i NEED it, but i dont mind spending the extra money, so i figured why not.. (unless it will damage something..)

No won't damage anything unless you install it wrong.

Cheers!Well i know all about that, Put my old one on a mates vr so he could get it home, wires connected in different spots which broke the rubber outside, wires touched the engines and started sparking and shit, i seen smoke come from my alternator and thought eh, its buggered. and left it on there, now i'm thinking there might not be anything wrong with it.. Am i right? :/Thanks

Maybe. I don't know how you got smoke coming from it. The reason it would have sparked when it touched the engine is because you basically touched the battery to the engine.

yeah tahts what i figured, but as for the smoke i recon thats come from when the wire has sparked on the engine, i was the one who connected the battery, so when i seen smoke, all i could see was smoke around the alternator, i'd say its pretty safe to say it actually came from the wires BEHIND it.
Smoke coming from wires still isn't a good sign. If you have a multimeter, check the resistance of the wires before connecting it to anything.

That wasn't my car, it was somebody elses, he taped them up, put a new alternator on, and off he went.. Or do you mean check the actual alternator? O.o
Never mind then. You may have done something to the alternator or it may still work, only one way to find out.
