Ive just put superlows in the rear of my vn and the guards have been rolled, there is scrubbing on the inside wheel arches on both sides. What can I do to fix this? from what I have heard an adjustable panhard rod wont fix the problem as the problem is on both sides. The bloke who rolled my guards said you can bash the arches in with a hammer to make clearance, I dont mind doing this will it cause problems? What is behind the wheel arch? The wheels are 225x55x17.
Any help would be great, cheers.
Only thing thats "behind" them is the interior of the boot. not sure i'd exactly be keen on bashing my inner-guards in with a hammer tho. Are they scrubbing constantly, or only when the suspension is loaded?
I would say that those 17's you are running have the wrong offset which is causing both sides to rub. You can massage them slightly to get a bit more clearance, but that amount will depend on if it's a wagon or sedan.

I got 235/45/R17's and they dont scrub on lows, but any lower and one side would scrub but only just.

Get some 5mm spacer plates. Cheap fix, but in some states they are illegal.
+2 for the incorrect offset. Are the wheels off a later model?
He also suggested some spacers, where can I pick them up from if there illegal? supercheap? autobarn? I thought the offset was a bit big on the tyres, the fronts are 215x45. So an adjustable panhard rod definitely wont help? As I'm thinking of getting some ultras in the rear, because unless its a full tank of fuel the back sits up pretty high, but if its scrubbing now its going to be hell with ultras.
Its a sedan by the way, so I'd rather bash the guards a bit then buy a new set of rears. The wheels are lenso, bought them off a guy on these forums.
Got a picture of how it sits with SSL by any chance mate, bit off topic but yeah?
