how do i change oil filter on my vn?

hi guys, sorry i know this is a ridiculous rooky question but i think i need to change my oil and oil filter on my 91 VN v6 engine, its a series 2, can anyone tell me anything important i might need to know before doing it?? which make should i buy, any specific filter?

nothing wrong with the old cheap ryco filters just remember to wipe a bit of oil or vasaline around the rubber seal on the new filter before screwing it on. To get the old one off use a filter spanner or if not available stab a screwdriver through the filter (they are pretty thin metal) and twist it off.

Run Engine at Idle for ten minutes to warm oil.
Place catchpan under sump plug.
Undo top engine oil cap to allow ease of oil flow through sump
Undo sump plug remembering that the oil is hot!
Wait for oil to drain
Undo Oil filter ensuring the o-ring seal has come off with it
clean sump plug and screw back into place
place new oil on the new o-ring on the new oil filter
screw on oil filter using hand, make sure its tight
replenish oil
run engine for ten minutes continuosly checking for leaks
check engine oil again and top up if necessary
