Default leaking speedo sensor transducer in a vp v6

hey guys, ive had a few mechanics tell me that my speedo transducer sensor thing is leaking, how do you fix this? should i get hold of a brand new sensor? or is it just replacing an o-ring? any ideas would be muchly appreciated

If it's the same as a VN then there is an O ring around it to seal it into the gearbox. This could be the problem, you really have to pull it out and have a look.

Yep, there's an 'O' ring in the hole in the trans. extension housing which goes hard with age and leaks - replacement only requires removing the 10mm head bolt and the clamp.

There is also a sealing washer inside the speed sensor - VS19145.

Occasionally the sensor housing itself will crack and leak.
