ratteling noise when driving

hey all
i have this ratteling noise coming from the engine bay when i drive, its only wen im goin really slow and havent got much pressure on the accelerater you can hear it wen ur in the car and wen i drive past some1 it annoys me and it make my car sound like a bomb witch it isnt please help

Most times it's the Engine Mount(s) have slight collapsed..Enuf to touch on the Exhaust Manifolds.

I belive..The way to check them is, See if the Rubber on the Mounts are cracked etc ?

typical vn most likely the timing chain tensioner has torn off and is in the sump the sound is the chain slapping round

the noise seems 2 b coming from the back of the engine :S iv got no idea wtf is goin on but it shits me

Engine has collapsed slightly, and is touching the Exhaust Manifold.

Check your Engine Mounts...If the rubber is all cracked..or gone, I believe it needs replacing.

My friend picked up a rattling noise when i had my foot slightly on the accelorator yesterday. I will check the mounts on Monday.

cat converter can hit the bottom of the car (near passenger foot well) if your engine mounts are shot, but like most vn's your probly hearing a timing chain rattle, mine used to do it loudest going up a hill quarter-half gas pedal.

same thing happened to me mate, it was 2 of my back brakes so pin/clip thing was pretty gone the mechanic said lucky i got it checked when i did (its been doing since i had it 2 yrs lol) cus my brakes were pretty much failing at the back

so id go get it checked by a good mechanic mate

Also when i put pressure on my brakes the noise went away cus something locked in does ur do this? then when i took it off the clip ratteled again

Actually speaking of back brakes (my left hand back wheel) i have no clue whats going on, at first i thought it was the wheel brace, but now it seems to grind if i take off with a fair amount of force on the accelorator. Also grinds if i go to take off turn left with a bit of wheel spinning. It all started when i skated it around a corner, chucked on the brakes for a speed bump (which i hit at the recommended 20kph) and its played up since. Ever since then i go over bumps 5kph lol. But that engine noise is also coming from the passenger side i think. Its where my friend was standing when i started the car and slowly went down the street.

sweet as ill check my mounts hopefully thats the prob i dont c how it could b the timing chain wen they r usually at the front of the engine or in my cars case its on the side wen looking from front of car ( the old s1 engines where they r a front wheel drive engine lol) i had a good listen 2 it the other day and it seems 2 b coming from fight down the back of the engine so maby it is the mounts
