    Default VN Calais speedo issues

Recently my speedo has been cutting out when knock (like going over speed bumps a little too fast). I'm almost totally certain that it's an issue with the dash, not the sensor that gets the speed, because a slight tap on the top of the dash would fix it.

Unfortunately this has been happening more often, and becoming harder to fix, so my question is, should I look into fixing my current cluster, or just try and hunt down a new one?

    Thanks, Lance.

    Hi Lance,
It will most probably be the voltage regulator inside the cluster. Takes about 20 mins to fix with a soldering iron. You take the speedo and tacho out and then remove the voltage regulator. Solder up the cracked solder joints and put it back together.

I've taken out the speedometer, but it looks like all of the joints are in really good condition.

Best bet to replace the voltage regulator outright?

You cant get them new any more - So it's repair or find a working cluster and fit your trip computer to it.

    Ugh. Just my luck.

Well thanks for the help anyway. Guess I'll go hunting for a new one.

If your dash bashing - solder every joint on the regulator. You may be suprised.
