Yo, a few days ago i brought a 89 VN S Pack. The guy told me it needed a new thermo sensor which is something like $50? Anyway, the car is running a bit sluggish. So im wanting to ask whether i should chuck it in for a service also. But i dont know how much that would cost, and im currently not working at the moment, so kinda strapped for cash a little bit. It has a VR radiator so would that add on to the price of the service? Since its a bit of an upgrade? Its a V6 3.8ltr also.
Or there's my other option of just buying the thermo sensor and selling the car with 5 months rego and 12 month rwc. Has 22XXXX on the clock.
well mate you could do some things
book it in 4 a service probably $250 $400 mark depending what u need done
or you could check ur leads and plugs, put new plugs in and check ur leads with a multimeter, running your car with shitty leads will def make it slugish but there can be alot of things that can make a car slugish
so yea its up to u mate
I know a fair few mechanics whom are family friends so i can get one of them to look over it. See what needs to be done
yea that would be ur best bet![]()
How is that radiator setup? VN's of that vintage will have a surge tank and a radiator with no cap, does it cause any problems?
I brought the car how ive described it. Im not really sure if the radiator has anything to do with the problem, but i will be getting the car checked over. I dont want it to break down in peak hour traffic on me. (With my luck thats very likely to happen). If it requires to much messing around im just going to sell or swap. Dont have the time or funds to mess around with cars too much as im currently not working at the time.
