Im from NZ and just bought a VP commodore S pack yesterday in Manual for $1741 (NZD). First off how well does this price compare to your prices over in OZ? I find it impossible to find a manual vn - vs for anything under $2500 let alone a nice s pack. Exterior paint is a bit rough and clutch is getting tired but otherwise its a bloody good car.
Anyway question time: Whats the easiest way to find out if its LSD without having to do skids everywhere. Is there a code in the VIN, or is there a number on the plate on the wall, or just looking at the DIFF can i tell if its LSD, or is it stamped particular numbers on the diff?
Just want to know if this is a decent S pack i should think about bringing upto a good standard and keeping, or if i should just tidy it up a bit and on sell it and keep my 94 berlina with full hsv body kit (but its auto).
Cheers guys
normally if its factory lsd then it has a plate saying it on the diff, otherwise, jack up the car so both rear wheels are off the ground, spin the wheel with your hand, both wheels should spin in n the same direction if its a lsd, open wheelers spin opisite ways
I still vote do a skid lol it saves getting under it or jacking it up :P
Just put one tyre on grass and one tyre on bitumen, just give a bit of throttle, if car moves forward then it has an LSD.
