have you checked that the metal rod from the hot/cold dial is connected to the white lever thing down by your left foot?
Yes I have mate, it's all connected properly I'm just getting cold air through my vents even though there's boiling hot water going through the heater core.
have you replaced your heater tap? I did that to my vn calais and it worked a treat. They should set you back by $50 and can be easily done by yourself?
My vn is pretty much the same mate.
In the freezing cold mornings it takes about 10 - 15 mins of driving for the heater to get hot.
When you move the lever/mechanism that the heater rod is connect to, can you 'feel' any resistance? This mixes the hot and cold and by the sounds of your symtoms, the mechanism could be stuffed.
Whoever said 'There is no substitute for cubes' had obviously never heard of Jet power
Shearer: yes you can notice some difference, when you move it from hot to cold the air gets colder than it was, but even on full hot the air is still cold.
Shortstuff: yes it is securely connected, I was playing around with it manually yesterday as I suspected that was the problem, but it seems to be stable and you can hear the door open and close when you move it back and forward.
It's weird the heater core pipes are very hot to touch, therefore I don't see why I wouldn't be getting hot air through the vents?
Any suggestions? Need this fixed sick of not having a heater on these cold mornings. :\

Pulled out all the centre console/under dash yesterday to get a better look at it, manually moved the cold/hot latch back and forward to make sure it wasn't obstructed, seems fine, only conclusion I can come to is that the heater core is blocked inside? Is this possible?
There has to be someone out there that has had the same issue as me..
i do and i cant find the problem to
maybe hit the core with a hammer slightly to dis-lodge the foreign object maybe if you think it is blocked........![]()
is your thermostat working??
yes the heater core is blocked a bitch of a job to replace but well worth it . There is of course the cheats way of replacing it (Which is the way I did it) the hardest part is aligning the pipes through fire wall so I cut the old ones and then cut pipes off the new core and joined them up with a piece of rubber heater tube. The join is about 20 mm wide and is double clamped on both sides. I now have a heater that works perfectly. There is a how to on here some where
