hi guys,
i spilled off a dirt road a few weeks back and had to change one of my tyres (i know nothing about cars btw)...anyway, i noticed the spare tyre i used had a different tread pattern on it than the other three, then someone told me this can matter. the car seems to be driving ok since....should i be concerned?
also what should be a normal tyre pressure for a vn wagon?
I think for road worthy reasons you have to have the same type of tyre on each end of the car. i.e the two fronts should be the same and the rears should be the same. Look for the recomended tyre pressure on the tyre. Otherwise usually about 30 psi should be fine.
different tread pattern is fine on the back but on the front always have matching. a good pressure is around 36-38 psi, something like that
As for tyre pressure, are they stock size tyres? My parents 15" use 30psi but my 18" use 38psi.

Tread dosent matter at all, as long as your not putting a directional tyre on backwards.
Its the profile of the tyre that needs to stay the same, 215/45/R17 and 225/45/R17 are fine to use together just one is slightly wider then the other.
Not ideal but nothing thats going to hurt.
