hey im over in nz gota vn 89 vn sedan manual and its gota couple issues just wondering if anyone could give some advice.firstly sometimes if you go round a corner fast and get on the gas occasionly it will die out like you will have your foot down and it will just have no power for a bit then ya back off then on again and it will shudder a bit then go sweet
also sometimes the battery light will come on for a bit then go away and once or twice the engine warning light has come on and i keep blowing low beam bulbs i took it to a auto electrician and they checked the voltage it was puting out and it was normal and basicly said he dosnt know whats goin on...
any advice would be appreciated cheers
Firstly, check Checking your Computer for Faults (VN - VP)
You're car may need a service..
New plugs & leads..oil..filter.. Transmission oil etc
But, first check the ECU for it's codes.. This will help you find the Problem most likely
hey i just ckecked the error codes and im not to sure.. when you first turn the key it will do code 13 which is o2 sensor but the 3 flashes after the first 1 are sort of quick and random and the vn's in nz didnt have o2 sensors. and then after the first set of flashes it just does code 12 which means everthings fine
i was thinking it could be the fuel filter because my mates gota vn manual as well and im bloody sure his fuel filter is alot bigger tha mine but could this be the problem??
there is a large and small fuel filter for vn most are the small one.as for the code 13 hasnt had a late vp ecu put in it or a tune to O2 sensor would explain the code
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
if it's a NZ built commy it should have a large filter, the smaller ones work to just need replacement more often. does it cut out on corners if you have less then 1/4 full fuel tank or does it do it all the time?
for the voltage problem make sure all the main connections are clean and tight. especially the battery terminals and earths on the chassis and block

yea i had a quick look at earths and terminals today and they all seem fine. and i havnt realy noticed but im prety sure it is usaly when ive got under 1/4 of a tank.i cant afford it at the moment because i dont have a job but i will try a new fuel filter when ive got the $
if it's happening below 1/4 tank then you are experiencing fuel surge. this is unfortunatly a common issue. the simplest solution is to have more fuel in the tank
