hey guys
i got defected a few weeks back for a number of things, one of them being the steering wheel. its over 350mm diameter which was the only law i was aware of relating to size, it also has the padded centre. anyway i found out the hard way this is the actual rule
"The diameter of any replacement wheel may be up to 25mm smaller than the original wheel but must not be less than 350mm."
so i need to know the actual factory diameter
thanks
if anyone is still running one of these, would you mind popping out and giving it a measure for us
can anyone tell me?
Hey mate, i just recently repaced my stock VN steering wheel.. it was 400mm or around that, i wasnt aware of this rule either, i put an after market wheel on, its 350mm... when it says it cant be more then 25mm smaller.... i might be in trouble....
yeah 400mm is about right. i just changed to a 350mm autotechnica wheel. my old one could be twisted nearly 4 times around in all places. :S
**** 400mm is huge, i might have to duck down to the wreckers and just throw on a stockie. cheers guys
I have a VP Calais/SS steering wheel and its 390mm +/- 1.5mm and personally I reckon 350mm is way to small anyways for a big size car.
I have a Sports steering wheel that I have had on several cars and its 380mm but I had to special order it as 355mm seems to be a standard size they carry in shops.
Cheers Dazz
