hi all
i am having a problem with my vp berlina v6 auto.
when i drive my car and accelerate half the time the car doesnt respond to the revs(i put my foot down and the engine just revs high but the car maintains the same speed without going faster)
also the car holds high revs when slowing down so when i sit at the lights for example it will still be at high revs and very very slowly decellerate(this also happens when driving after i have stopped accelerating)
could this be a problem with the transmission or the diff? its like the engine and the car/transmission arent working in sync with each other
i took it to the mechanic a couple weeks ago and they didnt pick up on the problem and thought it was fine when clearly it is not it runs like shit and isnt nearly as responsive as it should be.
any help would be greatly appreciated
low on trans fluid? um not sure.
shit mate cant be good for fuel economy either. I have absolutely no idea myself sorry, this post is just to send this thread back to the top of the forum list so hopefully someone can help ya lol. Good luck with it mate
thanks zskinner.
and nope all fluids are fine i really have no idea hope someone has a idea
anyone at all? surely someones got a cllue
If you put your foot down and the rev's hit the limiter ( all noise not going any where ) then your tranny is rooted.
Piss it off and get a new one.
yeah that seems to be the main problem like the two arent working together at all what would a rough price be for a second hand or reco one fitted
How did you check the fluid?
You need to check it after it's been for a drive, (retarded way i know) and with the engine going.
What colour is the fluid?
Illegitimi Non Carborundum
turns out the tranny is fine little wear and tear but nothing major,
got the coil pack and throttle body changed now runs great!
