Default deleting rear ressie, few questions

hello ladies, i want to delete my ressie, but, im thinking of using clamps, and grinding the ressie off both sides, then flaring the pipes, clamping it together with a straight pipe, so that way, when i dont feel like the sound, like a long drive or something, i can drop the pipe and put the ressie back,

    or

if that doesnt work, cut, and weld it, but can i weld my exhaust with an arc welder??

    cheers

yes you can weld with an arc welder, heck I welding in new panel section on my brothers EB ford with an arc welder. was tricky but I did it.
I suggest mild steel rods at 2-2.5mm 80amps? trick it to do only 5mm of weld at a time to prevent burning holes.

You can weld exhaust with a stick welder, but as vlad said, keep your travel speed up and stick to short runs. Also best to fill the tube with co2 if you can.

I welded up my 3 inch last weekend with bare wire mig (also an arc welding process) but thats a hell of a lot easier as the shielding gas keeps the temps down. I welded up my previous 2.5" with stick, using 2.0mm GP electrodes. Worked out ok, but was a bit of a headache.
