You forgot lunch
have you got the touque settings for the flex plate bolts? Maybe some rags to clean things up.

And maybe put a small piece of wood in between the jack and the tranny, metal on metal can be very slippery - especially if it gets some oil on it.
Other than that sounds like you've pretty much got it sussed, if anything else needs to come off, you'll see when you're half way through getting it out![]()
Cheers guys i will place a square piece of wood under the trans pan and i have a friend hepling me lift it out and one thing i forgot was undo trans lines and oh have lunch lol
Sorry guys double post
Is the cover on the bottom of your bell housing the heavy cast one that is braced to the sump of the engine? If it is you will need to remove the starter motor first or at least move it forward as the cover goes over the top of it. Also your engine pipes will be in the way so need to come off first. There are 6 bolts that hold this cover to the sump you will need to remove the steering rack to get at them properly and then possibly need to jack up the engine to get the cover out from between the engine and K frame. You can just unbolt the rack from the K frame and steering shaft and pull it back no need to take it off the steering arms.
If the starter motor has never been out there may be a bolt on the front of it holding it in and to get at that you have got to pull off the LHS exhaust manifold.
Removing the gerarbox you should drain it first as when you drop it the dip stick tube will probably come out and fluid will gush out. Good idea to get an old yoke to bung in the back after you take the tail shaft out too for the same reason. Don;'t forget to disconnect all gearbox electricalconnectors and the shift linkage.
Jacking it down there are attachments you can get for a trolley jack especially for the job and that way you won't have to worry about it tipping of the jack.
