hi guys, i have a vn exeutive in red, 250kms on the dash, mate offered me 2.5,
never had probs with it, only powersteering pump and few idle isues, thats it, has the usual rattles ect,
its my first car, im reallllly sad to see it go if i sell it, but 2.5 is good? tell me what you guys think
pics...
silver stockies pic is when i first bought it, ive spent alot of time on it, seeing im only 16, i think thats pretty good progress.... is it just first car attachment?
paint is IMMAC, interior is calais, 2 amps, full speaker system tweeters and all, heaps ofhours spent just on little things
I never got a say in the matter when my first car went. Although it was only a 91 Camry i only brought it cause it was cheap easy on fuel etc. Spent $$$$ on the sound system! The f'ing got stolen at my aunties and smashed into her car, but they took off because of the sound system. Mate i reckon 2.5 is good for an exec! Can go get a fairly decent VN Calais with that much. But in the end its your decision over other peoples.
With great cars, comes great drivers.
$2500 is good for any VN especially an exec. All the extra stuff you have done only increases the value to someone who wants the car or the things you have done to it, as a trade in you'd get next to nothing for it. I had a mint VN Vacationer with 12 months rego and only got $1600 for it as a trade. It needed a few mechanical things sorted and new tyres so trading it was simple, quick and easyit may have been worth a bit more as a private sale however.
my old vn,had full bodykit, lowered, newish shocks, new tinted windows, full calais interior etc but was unregistered. sold it for $800 so for $2500 id probably take that.
my vn was technically my second car but i thought of it as my first car,had it for four years and when i sold it,part of me died inside lol but i love my new car so you do get over it
If your VN is going good and has no issues why not keep it? A newer Commodore while much nicer to drive have a lot of little niggling issues for example VY's have steering shudder, central locking that doesn't want to work properly on wet days, water leaks in the back doors... There also more complex and in some ways this makes them a bit harder/more expensive to fix and diagnose faults but that said a lot easier to work on the engine for basic stuff like changing spark plugs, starter motors etc than a VN because the rails are further apart. Even given the small issues the VY's are in my mind about the best model with the Ecotech engine.
What are you thinking about upgrading to?
