hi people,
my VN exec just broke down, steam everwhere, coolant running everywhere, basically what is the name of the piece just below and slightly to the right of the thermostat head, behind the belt and alternator (i think its called that) it has a hose going into it, the aluminium piece was rotten and has fallen off so obviously the hose came off and coolant everywhere, can anyone tell me what this part is called?????
apparantly its between the block and the water pump??? its the metal piece which connects to the hose that has come off........anyone, sorry for being so vague!
The big ass hose, or a little hose?
its not one of the big ones that goes into the radiator, its behind the fan/alternator/belt, and its a smallish-medium size hose that goes into engine block as your facing it, its quite hard to see it/ get to it....any ideas?

so if you're looking at this photo, see the smaller of the two belts, its tucked in behind there, has anyone else got a more detailed image of an 3800 engine so i might be able to point it out...
Your pic doesnt work for me? :/
Is it that hose in the pic? the littler one.
If so, has it broken off where you can see the hose clamp, or up the back where you can't see the hose clamp? (fairly reknown for snapping the black plastic bung that goes into the intake manifold)
[Buick]"How To" bypass hose and inlet manifold bung
If thats where is broken, have a read through that "How To"
I was thinking it might be you thermostat and you thermostat housing.
My car did the samething the day after i got it.
