Has anyone done it before in a vn calais? Ive done some research and apparently it will all fit straight in except for minor overhang on the edge of the rear seats which doesn't bother me.. The only thing i couldn't find was how to wire up the front seats, im not worried about the memory module just want the seats to operate with or without the accessories switched on (as is the caprice seats work without key turned on acc or ON position) Does the vn calais have the plug in the loom already, will i need to splice some new wires to the existing loom or do i make a relay setup and hook straight to the battery via accessories?
Any info would be more than appreciated.
Also i should mention the vn is a series 1 and the vq is series 2! seems the series 2 caprice had the same wiring harness as the vr-vs and is different to the vn series 1...
i have vq caprice seats in my vn but i have the loom for the seats and u can buy the loom on ebay for 30 bucks and its a matter of 1 to posative and the othe to negative. constant power aswell as they move with ignition off. also the rear holes for the fronts has to be re drilled further back in the floor to bolt in, front holes line up fine. the frames are different for the caprices.and you cant change over frames if you want the electrice to work aswell
cheers mate, i have a complete vq caprice and have the loom setup still in the car. how do you go about wiring it up to the standard vn loom? Im guessing by what your saying theres one to + , - & accesories? do you need to redrill both rear holes for the front seats or just the inner hole which i noticed is in a diff position?
Cheers in advance for the advice.
both rear holes by memory.no acc. just constant power and earth.any were where theres constant power.
cheers mate how hard was it to retap the rear front seat holes? did you simply mark where the new holes needed to be drilled then drilled & tapped it out?
how do you install the memory feature with the seats i have a caprice here im stripping and im wanting to do the same thing
