while driving to work this morning had to make a u turn so as ya do i floored it came around skidding with a big smile on my face. butt when coming to the round about later on it was really hard to turn all the way. its happen
before but this time it seems its not going to go back to normal. its driveable butt its frkn hard to turn.
theres plenty of power steering fluid no visible damage to the axles or wheels. does anyone have a clue ?
Maybe the hydraulics are getting old.
Don't they reckon that you shouldn't have your car (any car that is) on full lock for more than a couple of seconds?
on older cars it will stuff up the hydraulics on the power steering system.
is this right? Can someone else confirm this? Maybe there is a blockage in the line somewhere too???

oh i didnt know that well these hydraulics are they expensive to replace ? and yeah i was thinking that maybe theres a blockage somewhere but the fluid seems to be going down as it should.
With yours being a Calais, does it have the speed sensitive steering? Maybe the solenoid has stuck, spinning the rear wheels will make it think it is going faster than it is so it makes the steering harder. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds and resetting the ECU, this sometimes fixes it.
Yep Calais has speed sensitive.
Take out the fuse under the bonnet for the fuel pump, pwr steer runs off the same relay.
Take the fuse out, put back in see if u got them pressures
Used to do mine every couple days its annoying
yeah true maybe after i fix my power steering lol
ok how does it come off the actually clip i tried taking it off buhh wouldnt budge
i restarted the battery left it off for about 5mins ( when unscrewing the two bolt on things on the battery be carefull they were still live) then reconnected everything and bang
bloody steering was just like new. and i was having a few problems with my central locking and now thats all in good order too i dont know for how long but im a happy driver for the mean time. if you have the original cassette player when reconnecting youll be asked fot the security code luky for me i have mine butt for those who dont get it before doing this lol
thanks for the help guys
