Maybe the hydraulics are getting old.

Don't they reckon that you shouldn't have your car (any car that is) on full lock for more than a couple of seconds?

on older cars it will stuff up the hydraulics on the power steering system.

is this right? Can someone else confirm this? Maybe there is a blockage in the line somewhere too???

oh i didnt know that well these hydraulics are they expensive to replace ? and yeah i was thinking that maybe theres a blockage somewhere but the fluid seems to be going down as it should.

With yours being a Calais, does it have the speed sensitive steering? Maybe the solenoid has stuck, spinning the rear wheels will make it think it is going faster than it is so it makes the steering harder. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds and resetting the ECU, this sometimes fixes it.

    Yep Calais has speed sensitive.

Take out the fuse under the bonnet for the fuel pump, pwr steer runs off the same relay.

Take the fuse out, put back in see if u got them pressures

Used to do mine every couple days its annoying
